MetaRank:TRACK
9 our of 10 - rates as Excellent
rated 9 / 10 by users of ASPIN.COM
the ASP resource index

MetaRank:REVIEW
The first step is always to review a website to understand its purpose and objectives, who it is trying to target, and the impression visitors should be left with.

If a website already has good structure and well written content, then we would consider the next MetaRank stage, optimising the website.

Often though we find that the site is out of date, or the client would like a fresh design or additional functionality - in which case it becomes a full Base development project.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
You will receive a report of our REVIEW, providing you with everything needed to optimise your site for search engines:

Summary report - your site's relative position in search engines with its current keywords (if any), and how alternative keywords may affect this

Usability report - reports on how easy-to-use your site is, including: headers, menus, footers, content, images and layout

Competitive analysis - what the most successful sites in your sector are doing, and how successful this is making them

Under the hood - a review of how well coded your site is - even when it looks good, bad coding may stop search engines indexing your site, and even keep out large groups of people, such as those with sight disabilities

Recommendations - and finally, a list of anything we recommend changing on your site to make it more attractive to people you want visiting your site

How do people search on the web?
There are several ways to find information on the web:

Search Engines
Most straight-forward: type a phrase and click, get a ranked list and click yoru choice. e.g.: Google and Ask Jeeves.

Portals
The 'one-stop shop' approach; offering links to every topic they can think of. e.g.: MSN and Excite.

Directories
Editors organise and describe websites in structured categories, so you can search or browse. e.g.: DMOZ and looksmart
